There are several upcoming models to be launched within the next few months. Here’s taking a look at some of them:
BMW G310 R
The BMW G310 R will have a single cylinder 313 cc engine with twin overhead camshafts, making 33.6 hp and will weigh only 158 kg. The G310 R will get a more contemporary and safe styling template in contrast to the quirky look of some other BMW Motorrad models with bigger displacements. There will be a reversed cylinder design sloping towards the rear wheel. This is expected to be priced at INR 2.2 lakhs (ex-showroom) and should be launched in October 2016 as per reports.
BMW full line up in 2016
Earlier, BMW motorcycles could only be bought at Navnit Motors in Mumbai or Deutsche Motoren in Delhi and NCR. However, BMW Motorrad is planning an October launch of its entire lineup in India through dealerships across major metro cities. This lineup will include tons of exciting bikes including the GS series, R nineT and S1000RR among others.
DSK Benelli TRK 502
The TRK 502 had earlier been showcased at EICMA in Milan, Italy. This will have a 499cc parallel-twin, liquid cooled engine that makes 46.9 hp and 45 Nm. There will be a road oriented model with 17 inch rims at the front and rear and a model with a 19 inch rim up front for better off roading abilities. ABS will be a standard feature for both these models. The TRK 502 is expected to be priced around INR 5 lakhs and should be launched in Q4 2016.
The Tornado 302 is also being tested on Indian roads and was also shown at EICMA in Italy along with IBW in Goa. This gets an aerodynamic front fairing along with a 14 litre tank. There is a steel trellis frame and the rear shock absorber will be positioned under the seat. ABS will be standard while there will be 17 inch wheels. There will be a DOHC inline-twin cylinder 300 cc liquid cooled engine that makes 35 hp and 27 Nm along with a six sped gearbox. This should be launched in September-October 2016 and is expected to be priced at around INR 3 lakhs (ex-showroom).
DSK Benelli BX 250
The BX 250 supermoto will have a single cylinder 250 cc liquid cooled engine that is expected to output around 25 hp. There are USD front forks and a linkage equipped rear setup. The supermoto setup should be ideal for Indian roads and the prices for this beast are expected to hover around the INR 1.8 lakhs (ex-showroom) mark with the launch lined up for H1 2017 as per reports.
DSK Benelli TNT T135
This will be competition for the Honda Navi and will have a monkey-bike setup like Honda with 12 inch wheels like sports scooters. There will be a single cylinder 135 cc air cooled engine which makes around 13 hp along with USD front forks and a rear monoshock. This is due for a launch in H1 2017 and prices are expected to be around INR 90, 000 (ex-showroom).
DSK Benelli Leoncino
This is expected to be a retro scrambler and was shown at EICMA in Milan with hints from the brand that it would be launched in the first quarter of 2017 in India. The name translates into lion cub and the bike will have the Lion of Pesaro figure displayed on the front fender. There will be a 500 cc engine making 44 hp and 45 Nm. There will be a big 19 inch rim up front and a 17 inch rim at the rear. Prices are expected to be around INR 4 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The NMAX was shown at the 2016 Auto Expo and is a stylish maxi-scooter which will be hitting Indian shores soon. This will have a single cylinder 155 cc engine with VVT. There will be ABS and 13 inch tyres and prices should stand at around INR 1 lakh (ex–showroom). This should be launched by the end of the year.
The naked version of the YZF-R3 or the MT-03 is expected to be launched by late 2016. This will have the same 321 cc engine as the R3 that makes 41.4 hp and 29.6 Nm. This will be a compact offering from Yamaha with prices expected to stand at around INR 2.80 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Honda PCX 150
Another maxi-scooter from Honda, this garnered good responses at the 2016 Auto Expo. This will be a good daily commuter with a liquid cooled 153 cc low friction engine making 13.3 hp and 13.7 Nm. This will have 14 inch rims and a sleek design in addition to a 12 volt accessory adapter for charging electronic devices. The launch is expected to be around Q4 2016 and prices should start at INR 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
TVS Akula 310
This will be the first fully faired motorcycle from TVS and should be hitting showrooms by the end of the year. The Akula 310 will have aggressive styling and a liquid cooled 313 cc single cylinder engine that makes 33.6 hp. This is expected to be priced around INR 2 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Vespa GTS 300
The Vespa GTS 300 was shown at the India Bike Week held in Goa and is expected to be launched in Q4 2016. This will have a 278 cc engine based on the QUASAR engine platform and will make 22 hp and 22.3 Nm. There will be a multimedia platform that can be accessed through a smartphone app and this will offer data about the diagnostic readouts and trip. There will be an all new steel body and signature Italian scooter styling. The price is expected to be around INR 5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
This will be a stunning scooter from the Italian brand with radical styling and a single cylinder 155 cc SOHC engine. This will make 12.7 hp and there will be the ASR traction control system available as well. This could be the costliest scooter sold in India with prices expected to be around INR 9 lakhs (ex-showroom) but will stand out for its design alone.
MV Agusta Brutale 800
MV Agusta is planning the launch of the Brutale 800 in India. Earlier in 2016, it launched the Brutale 1090, F3 and F4 in India. The new Brutale 800 will be launched in the beginning of 2017 and will come with a triple end exhaust, muscular tank and flat elliptical headlight. This will be brought through the CKD route and assembled at the Pune based plant of the Kinetic Group. There will be a 798 cc engine on offer with the beast expected to be priced at around INR 13 lakhs (ex-showroom). This will make it the cheapest model in the MV Agusta range for the Indian market.
